About Kris
Kris mostly writes humorous picture books, but is working on a YA, dabbles in romcoms, and occasionally writes poetry. For picture books, her style is usually short pithy sentences and her humor ranges from silly to dark. She has a B.A in English, a Masters in Secondary Education, she was a B&N bookseller, and is currently a member of SCBWI and 12x12. When she isn't writing, working for a nonprofit, or chasing her kids, you can find her in her natural habitat - the Renaissance Festival.
Her Story
Kris has dyslexia and wasn't able to read until the 3rd grade. It was thanks to her mom and some really dedicated teachers that she finally got the hang of it. What kept her going was her constant need for stories. Her favorite picture book growing up was FOX IN SOCKS, probably because after listening to it on tape on repeat she could read it herself!

Kris hopes to to create stories that inspire even those struggling to read to keep going.
